FSX - The V-22 Osprey

The V-22 Osprey [FSX]Half Plane - Half Helicopter? Its Both.*Because of my crapy computer, you can't see the two propellers spinning._____________________ __________Download The V-22 Osprey At: http://www.fsdownload.com/modu... MV-22 OspreyThe V-22 Osprey is a joint-service, medium-lift, multi-mission tilt-rotor aircraft developed by Boeing and Bell Helicopters. The aircraft operates as a helicopter when taking off and landing vertically. The nacelles rotate 90 degrees forward once airborne, converting the aircraft into a turboprop aircraft. The V-22 is fully shipboard compatible, with the world's first complete blade fold and wing stowage system.nnThe V-22 is being developed to perform missions for the various branches of the United States armed services. The V-22 design, incorporating advanced technology proven in the XV-15 tiltrotor demonstrators, takes advantage of proven technology in composite materials, digital fly-by-wire flight controls, and advanced survivability and crashworthiness. A tiltrotor combines the speed, range and fuel efficiency normally associated with turboprop aircraft with the vertical take-off/landing and hover capabilities of helicopters.

Neat vid but there are a couple of things. First, FSX doesn't do a great job with VTOL aircraft. I have an F-35B and as near as I can tell, using the lift fan is like having super huge flaps. It is stable down to about 30kn but then stalls out. It's just how the software is.Secondly, the V-22 cant put the engines in the full forward position while on the ground because the prop/rotor would strike the ground.

hey can that thing hover? from what I can tell from the video all you can do is float up and forward. I downloaded a Harrier with the same flight characteristics.
