but if your buying it of ebay its got going to support the distribution to support the distribution get a copy off the red hat website but I got a free copy of Kubuntu and Ubuntu sent to my home 4 free :-P

mmmm in opensuse, fedora and many distros (rpm based) you can just download the newest kernell in RPM format and just install it whitout compile it... thats my point. sorry if i wasn't clear before.

there's no ISO of kernel.. there are ISO images of distros but not kernel

you dont download the source code... you can download an ISO copy, and just burn it, and install it.. ther are many distros redhat(fedora free), opensuse, ubuntu, etc...
