No, nu metal is not a metal sub-genre. It is another commercialized attempt to make heavy metal mainstream without actually understanding the complexities of the genre. Like 'glam metal' 'nu metal' is not heavy metal but another fallacy that insults, degrades, and illegitimizes true metal bands.
