I don't care what anyone says, there's no one like the "Chairman of the Board." Frank was just plain cool!!!!

I would say bands such as ACDC aren't around much anymore. Hard Rock however can still be found, it's just sometimes so loaded up with synth and other effects, that it seldom feels like the hard rock we used to listen to. (Look at Disturbed, for example.)

"much like we'll never see another singer quite like Sinatra." True. And does it only seem so to me, or is Hard Rock kinda missing today? I mean, back in the 70s, when bands like Deep Purple, Kiss, ACDC came up - most stopped releasing new albums, some started solo projects."They look for something they can relate to" Strange, isn't it? But probably true...the youth of today doesn't seem to care much about more deep topics. I'm more able to relate to lyrics by Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, etc.

Of course I mean developing new and interesting ways of playing metal. There's no one playing now who captures Black Sabbath's sound, or Iron Maiden. True talent always has a unique flavor, much like we'll never see another singer quite like Sinatra.I think more of the pop-like terrible music tops the charts because people don't look for talent in music. They look for something they can relate to, or grasp. The most popular music will never be the best music, in a manner of speaking.

AHH What a great classic by Sinatra. Everytime I hear this I remember my father saying "he spoiled the song by singing doo bee doo bee doo...... at the end." (lol!) He was so jealous of Sinatra! Thanks for the wonderful memories of this beautiful and romantic song!

And i agree with that about Punk. The Dead Kennedys for example did some good stuff."Metal has taken great steps forward," - i hope you mean great steps in developing several interesting ways of playing metal and not, great steps compared to the past?
