Joan Crawford I think was a great actress but she also struck me as a very jealous catty person. I think she was jealous of Liz Taylor. Who was she to criticize Taylor's personal life at all? I've heard her say mean things about other actresses lives too. She's no saint herself. Atleast she regrets that NOW during this interview because she knows how bad that makes her look.

Obviously if Joan Crawford was a great actress or not; with her attitude in this interview, she proves that mommie dearest was probably true: notice her stuck up, proud lofty attitude when she says; i critized miss taylor on occasion, well dearie, if ur going to critize someone, first critize ur eyebrows and hair, they are both terrible! her attitude comes of as, dont fuck with me or i'll tear u to pieces!

I don't think she meant Elizabeth Taylor learned acting from her, she meant Richard Burton. Whether she is right or wrong about that is another question. Elizabeth was always a much better screen actor than Burton.

Many people have many different views on Joan, some good, some bad. Alot based on the book her adopted daughter wrote about her after her death. Some making their views without even having seen one of her films. Its a fact that without doubt, when you see Joan Crawford in a film, she owns the screen, the talent of this actress is unquestioned. To see a true Hollywood golden-age icon at work, treat yourself and see one of her movies. Then you will see why she is one of the greats.

She said she has previously been critical of Elizabeth Taylor. But it was about the way she conducted herself in her personal life and she regrets saying bad stuff about Elizabeth. She now thinks that Elizabeth has become one of the greatest screen actors ever. Even though she thinks it's because Elizabeth learnt from her.
