Delta Flight 6499, SEVEN HOURS on the tarmac
Delta Flight 6499 JFK to DFW on June 25 2007 experienced more than just a routine delay.. for seven hours, four children screamed, and we were told by crew that they couldn't feed us because Delta simply wouldn't allow it.I do not fault the crew for the delay, but someone at the airline IS at fault for not having a plan B during an event similar to this. Apparently there are no laws currently that mandate any action be taken after a certain number of hours passes. Even if the delay was twelve, fifteen hours, forcing passengers to stay on the plane is all legal. In a post-9/11 world, forget about raising your voice or causing a fuss on board an aircraft, as everyone is well aware you can be detained for making any kind of commotion. The theory behind the media storm swirling from this clip will be featured in my upcoming book on social engineering .. HAXXED.TV :D cheers.

Isn't that like borderline kidnapping if they refused to let you off after 7 hours of sitting on the tarmac?

Holy shit! They have GOT to do something about that. It should be illegal to keep passengers on a plane that long with no food or option to deplane and get their own food!

okay i think u should all just stop the arguing. Pilots and atc etc. are doing very hard jobs and sometimes luggage is lost and just because every once in a while there is a long delay doesn't mean we can flame them. They're job is hard.

wow.. you must not fly very often :DI mean.. I agree with idiot posters who just throw out random shit like you said, but I wouldn't consider my video post an idiotic baseless rant by any means.. it was a legitimate fail by the airline, and apparently I wasn't the only one to think that way since it was then featured as the lead in story on NBC Nightly News and CBS Evening News the following day that I posted this clip. Why do you think it got much steam in the media?

I'm hoping you can agree with me on that statement.

I wouldn't say clueless. I mean, I really don't have much of a behind-the-scenes understanding like you do, unfortunately, or the business knowledge of the company itself. I just don't like when arrogant/ignorant commenters point their fingers at an airline for no reason. It's just sad when the basis of their statement is, "this airline sucks." or, "the legroom sucks, go united!" In my opinion I've never really encountered an airline that has ever "sucked".
