download asio4all, install it, and set Modplug's audio device to use ASIO4All. Fixed it for me.

I'm a bit surprised myself that people are still using ModPlug after all these years. I've been dabbling with it here and there for about eleven years now. The VST support now is fucking awesome!

Awesome tracks!! I've been using MPTracker (now OpenMPT) for about 9 years, I guess...Haven't been touching it in a year or so, though. Maybe I should.

you cant load mp3 as sample...only wav, xi, its, s3i etc.
